A Creative Learning Journey at Aryabhatta International School, Barnala
On 18th September 2025, Aryabhatta International School, Barnala, proudly hosted the CBSE Capacity Building Program on Disaster Management, a program designed not just to inform but to empower. The main motive of this seminar was to equip teachers with the right techniques to be used in critical situations such as earthquakes, floods, cyclones, fires, or other emergencies that may threaten school safety.
The session began with a warm welcome by Principal Mr. Shashikant Mishra, who applauded both the resource persons and the active participation of teachers. The resource persons – Ms. Meghna Vohra( Economics Lecturer , Kundan Vidya Mandir School , Ludhiana and Ms. Aruna Jaiswal ( Principal of DPS School , Sangur) – turned the seminar into a vibrant experience by blending knowledge with creativity. They introduced role-plays, case studies, team activities, and handouts that helped teachers step into real-life disaster scenarios and practice effective responses.
Teachers were divided into 10 dynamic teams – Prepared Pioneers, Resilient Responders, Vigilant Guardians, Proactive Protectors, Compassionate Crew, Steadfast Sentinels, Ready Resilience, Crisis Commanders, United Uplifters, and Empowered Educators. Through these teams, they not only learned the science of disaster management but also the art of teamwork and resilience.
Adding to the strength of the seminar, coordinators Mrs. Manpreet Chawla, Mrs. Reena Mishra, and Mrs. Renu Singla highlighted how this training will help teachers extend both practical safety measures and psychosocial support to students in times of crisis.
The day concluded with gratitude and honor for the resource persons, who were appreciated for fulfilling their beautiful duty of spreading awareness and preparedness. Truly, this seminar was more than a workshop – it was a journey of awareness, resilience, and empowerment.
