MATH ACTIVITY ARABIC & ROMAN

 Activity on Roman and Hindu-Arabic Numbers Conducted at Aryabhatta International School, Barnala

An engaging activity on the identification and matching of Arabic and Roman numerals was conducted for the students of Grade 4 at Aryabhatta International School, Barnala. The objective of this activity was to familiarize students with Arabic (1, 2, 3…) and Roman (I, II, III…) numerals and to help them understand the relationship between the two systems.

During the activity, students practiced matching Arabic and Roman numerals using cards, writing dates in Roman numerals, and recognizing Roman numerals from 1 to 100. The students participated enthusiastically and showed great interest in learning.

The activity significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of numbers. Additionally, they were taught the practical uses of Roman numerals in real life, such as in writing dates, class levels, and chapter numbers.

Principal Mr. Shashikant Mishra and Coordinator Ms. Renu Singla shared that the aim of such activities is to develop mathematical thinking, focus, and memory in students.
