INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

“Yoga is the dance of every cell with the music of every breath that creates inner serenity and harmony.”

International Yoga Day is celebrated all across the world on June 21, and the day serves as a platform to raise awareness about the manifold benefits of practising Yoga.  Aryabhatta International school, Barnala knows the significance of a healthy mind and body as it is  common  that adults combat stress in many forms every day. But today’s children are as stressed as adults. Growing competition in schools and colleges, dealing with peer pressure, difficult stage of puberty, extracurricular activities and meeting parents’ and teachers’ expectations are very stressful for children. The best way you can cope with this pressure is by practicing yoga. The practice has a huge effect on your body and the systems that support it, like the nervous, respiratory and digestive systems. Yoga influences children’s emotions and behaviour; it has a positive effect on the mental state and aids creativity. So it was celebrated at Aryabhatta International school, Barnala in which all the youngsters participated under the guidance of Mrs. Pooja Garg, Ms. Babalpreet Kaur , Mr. Bhupinder Singh and performed Pranayam,Padamasana,Shavasana etc.
Apart from this, the school Principal Mr. Shashikant Mishra motivate the students by explaining that
Just like you prepare the soil before you sow the seeds, you need to prepare the mind. As children you are very receptive at a tender age. Yoga will help the youngsters to keep focussed, improve the quality of memory and overall brain functions. The mind assumes many stages. Yoga can help the young minds to transform the ‘quality of consciousness'. Yoga for kids is gaining popularity these days.

"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self."

 Happy International Yoga Day!
